 Go-Ride cycling activities give under-eighteens the chance to experience the action and excitement of cycle sport through British Cycling’s national network of Go-Ride cycling clubs. Go-Ride clubs aim to be safe, effective and child-friendly, use traffic free facilities, such as school playing fields and playgrounds and have trained coaches that introduce young riders to a range of cycling disciplines, such as Mountain Biking, BMX and Track Riding. Go-Ride activities are fun, exciting and challenging for newcomers and more experienced riders alike. Young people will learn essential cycling skills that will make them safer, better and faster than their friends. |

Ferryhill Wheelers Cycling Club has been around for over eighty years and is still going strong. We are working with schools across the area to give children a chance to learn about cycling and gain confidence on the bike. We are offering a series of events at your child’s school and hope that they will enjoy the experience enough to want to join our club. We will then continue the coaching activity at regular evening, weekend and school holiday sessions as well as providing a range of social events and a chance to compete for those that are interested in joining us.
We are also working with partners to provide permanent cycling facilities in the area and sponsors to allow us to offer more benefits for new young riders. We believe this is the start of something big and invite you and your children to be part of it. |
INFORMATION
Your Child's school will have provided a consent form for you to complete if you wish for your child to take part in the series of coaching sessions. We aim to start with basic skills and encourage those who have limited experience to come along as we will ensure that everyone gains useful skills and confidence (Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions). This series of sessions is aimed at year 6 Pupils only. If your child is interested in taking part in similar coaching sessions but is not in this year group then please contact us. A helmet is compulsory and we have negotiated some special deals with local shops if you need to buy one (contact us for details) The sessions are aimed at allowing children to experience cycle sport in a safe environment.
